They can tint away with no probs.

I thought it depended on what American state you were in.

Read off another forum it could be a 1.5 turbo circa 200bhp

I really like the 2, trying to persuade my mrs to get one but she prefers the Toyota IQ, which is actually really nice inside.  Cant imagine they would ever put a 2.3 into such a small car, figure a 1.4 - 1.6 turbo would be the max.

I'd feel too much of a "council-estate-chav-bell-end".

The fact that you have a problem being associated with a council estate makes me think you must be a bell end anyway?

well i'm sure youre not a bell end, but i did find your comment offensive tbh, but my apologies for being so blunt. How do you think someone would feel if they lived on a council estate and read that?

Take out the insulting "bellend" and reference to council estates, and the bonnet scoop is still chavtastic, While the OP could have worded it an awful lot better, he's saying what Im thinking!

PS. I grew up on a council estate!

Me too and 1/2 my family still live in them, and I only live 200yds away from one now.

You can't look in any direction witout seeing Corsas and Saxos etc... that are slowly turning into primer grey fibreglass spaceships.
Yes there are plenty of good, hard working families, but there are also more than a fair share of non-working, burberry/tracksuit wearing, bull terrier owners who think the epitomy of class is to drink stella instead of carling.
... its what I see with my own eyes i'm afraid (and I teach the unwanted and uncared for ofspring of most of them).   :-\ Anyway, back on topic  ;D

Until we have confirmation on the engine size and power, the chav comment holds even more sway... this could be a tarted up 1.4Ts just for show!!!  ;D I wonder if they have told their insurance?!?  :P ;)

Ok guys. Enough has been said. I don't think that continuing in this vein is particularly appropriate. Please discontinue any further comments that could inflame the situation.  If I see any more contentious posts, I shall delete them.

lol, true mate, live 5 steps from one and see the same. Anyscoob. If they do put a 2.3 in it... it would be a serious pocket rocket and i would be trying to convince my lovely lady to get one as well....for her of course ! lol

Kenco - I know mate. Maybe from now on mazda3 will read more carefully before posting.

I think it will be closer to 1.6 tbh otherwise it'll be way to front heavy and understeer like a bitch.
1.5-1.7 with a turbo, easy get 160-180bhp without wringing its guts out. Should be good for 7sec max to 60 depending on gearing and I wouldn't want to do more than 130ish in something that small and short wheelbase anyway!!!
