its possible that you are suffering from the ill fated ABS/DSC Unit failure.. its been happening to quite a lot of Mazda 3's recently.. if your car is under warranty, it should be covered..

Well took the car to the dealer on onday got a call later in the day saying the ABS pump is nackered and needs
replacing , then proceeded to give me the "its an expensive part needs to be cleared through mazda" line.

So justwaiting for the call to take it in.
Oh and they fixed the badly adjusted headlights but not the squeaky chair.

Was that Pilling's up near Westcroft Barney? I think it is totally unacceptable to have used 1/4 tank of petrol.

Just wanted to know your opinion of them.

 Hi Everyone,

I have also had this light staying on my 185 Sport, plus the engine check lamp and a reduction in power, the dealer has cleared the problem by changing (I believe) the DSC sensor but I am interested to know where this sensor is situated in the car.

hi mate, this has just happened to me today. Only done 600 miles in my '59 2.2 150. Got it booked in tomorrow. Engine light, DSC light on and turbo failing to kick in. Did it take them long to sort? Just wondered if it's something they'll be able fix while I wait, or is it a big job. Can't believe my luck, I'm already fuming that the car was delivered without keyless/smart start!!

Left with dealer and they say sensor has gone so same issue. It's going to be next Tuesday when they get the part so they are providing me with a hire car until then. I'm suprised about this, thought mazda's were rock solid. My partner bought a mazda2 6 months ago and that had a fault in first week!

Hi Johnn8oy

When I had the DSC problem, after many checks and tests the dealer replaced our DSC sensor (I don't know which sensor they changed) with one from a brand new car they had in stock, and this has solved the problem, we have now done about 250 miles since they did it and it's running well.

Actually changing the part only took about half an hour, finding what the problem was took a few hours.

Does anyone know the cost of one of these sensors? I am well out of the warranty period ( 05 2 Litre sport ) so will be facing the repair bill myself. I have read other forums where Mazda want up to £1500 to fix this problem!
