Saloon Boot LED lighting
« on: April 12, 2009, 02:23:35 AM »
Hey guys.. finally managed to fit in an LED strip in the boot today.. now i can actually see what am looking for in the boot at night times! Its a simple LED strip connected to the boot light wiring, so they turn on as soon as the boot is opened. I left the original boot light in there cause i thought might as well.. lol
Am now gonna look for some plastic covering which will help diffuse the light output better thru out the boot.. here are some pics:

Boot with trim removed:

Wiring tapped into with some special snap on connectors:

Chosen area for LED placement:

LED strip lit up:

Bright output:

Stuck to the panel with double sided tape:

Tidying the wiring:

Final Results (not the best pictures):

Look at life through the windscreen, not the rearview mirror.

Hi Neeldub,

Cars an 05 reg 1.6d Mazda 3

Looking at this post, I wanted to carry out the same mod, however was a little unsure which wires to tap into as near the bulb I have a brown an blue wire?

Would these be ok to tap into?

Sorry I haven't taken much trim away and am lost which wires are for the bulb in the boot lid other then then ones I have mentioned near the interior bulb light where they seems to be a bad earth as it comes on when it wants to.

Any help would be appreciated

Kind Regards
