Brake pads worn out??
« on: May 07, 2007, 09:03:03 PM »
today while driving on the A10, i came to a stop at a traffic light. While braking, i could hear this grinding noise coming from the back wheels. I heard this noise before but today it was louder. I got a bit worried so i called up Mazda Assist helpline, and they gladly sent someone to take a look at the car. The guy came about an 1hr later and i explained the problem to him.

he had a look and told me that i need new brake pads as the rears have worn out. Hows that possible when the car was serviced in September 2006 and the next not due till September 2007 or 25,000 miles (currently on 23,540). I was aware that i should get the pads checked, but the dealership keeps giving me appointments quite far away. now question is.. do the dealerships replace all the pads during servicing? cause the guy from Lantern who came to look at the car told me that, normally they replace the front pads on 1st servicing as they wear out before the rear ones.  ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? i wasnt aware of this. if i remember correctly, dealership told me they had replaced all the brake pads?? i'm confused...

i have a funeral to attend tomorrow and cant go the dealership till wednesday??? and i dunno how much they wil cost  ??? ??? :o :o

the expenses of motoring eh..  :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-\ :-\

My mate just got some brakepads for his BMW, think they were £32 a pair - so not *too* bad, but he didn't opt for cheapo ones - after all, they're between you, and the car in front :)

See if you can get them to pay for the pads?  Saying that they needed to be replaced ASAP - or, ask for a courtesy car :)
Nada :/

:o Did you really have your front pads changed at the first service?
