It's crazy just how much my annual mileage has decreased since I retired.  4 years ago I was doing 18-20K a year. Now I'm down to about 6 or 7K

But hey, I spend a lot less on petrol

Well, that's another year gone by and another consecutive MOT pass. This 13 year old is doing rather well.

Had an advisory this time.  I changed the high level brake light 12 years ago for a LED version. This year one of the 18 led elements has failed. so I've got  a slight blackspot

From about 10 feet away, the light is so bright anyway that you can't even see that one is missing.

Other than that another clean bill of health.

Serviced at the same time
Mileage 112229
CO  0.00% vol
HC  4 ppm  (The limit is 200ppm)

I reckon this car will outlast me   ;D ;D

LOL   sorry speedy, but I'm well past crawling underneath to take pictures.

However, I did ask the guys today if there were any serious problems with chassis rust and corrosion. They were honest with me and said that although there were some early signs of corrosion along the side seams, (that's the cill / floorpan seam which is the same one the jacking points are on) it was nothing that they would be concerned about. And as far as MOT regs are concerned, the underside was in very good condition for a car of this age and nothing to worry about.

So sorry but no pictures.
Maybe next year when I take it for the next MOT, I shall ask them if I can look underneath whilst it's up on a ramp.

I know, I'm desperately worried about that.    :-\ :-\ ;) ;)   It means that it's only got about  another 49 years life. What am I going to do  ? ?

Edit:  Because I'm a geek with numbers, that sounded wrong. So.
If its registering 4ppm after 13 years and the limit is 200 then based on that and extrapolating it's got 650 years before it reaches 200 parts per million.   Yikes ! !     ;D ;D ;D

I'll get my coat now :)

Chances are it's always been there or there abouts from new. Mines always been either 2 or 3, only time you'll run into 200ppm limit is if your fueling is far far too rich (but then the stoichmetric ratio would be out as well (iirc that should be 1 rich fuelling would give a lower reading, lean higher). Remember an episode of wheeler dealers where they struggled to hit 200 ppm but that was a carburettor 5.7 V8!

Thanks :)   It's been well looked after. Although I must admit it has never been garaged overnight. It doesn't fit in the garage anyway.  :)   It seems when they built the garage for my house, that cars were somewhat smaller. It might just fit in with the mirrors folded in, but then I wouldn't be able to open the door.  Consequently it's parked on the driveway every night.
