:( I would like to warn any one who may be interested in the very poor after sales service i recently received from the Mazda Dealer in Taunton Somerset

I arranged to have my wheels rotated as they recommended. This is a chargeable job despite having 3 years free servicing.

My rear parcel shelf has cracked for some unknown reason - this doesn't come under the warranty.

I booked the car in a week before in went in to have the above done and to see if they could resolve the problems - only 2 weeks after it was serviced so wasn't the above done then? I arranged a courtesy car so that i could go on to work after dropping my car off. 3/4 hr later a car turned up with only 1 mile of petrol in it and before i reached the nearest petrol station that was only a few yards away (luckily for me) the reading was saying 0 miles.

Whilst waiting for my courtesy car another customer arrived who had her leg in plaster and had crutches. she was told apparently that a normal service would take only 1.5 hours before arriving but when she enquired how long it would take she was told that one there wasn't a courtesy car available and because she and her husband had arrived after others like me she would have to wait longer.

I also have a drivers seat that cracks / creaks under braking + a tapping noise from the rear of the car. the garage's explanation is my CD's in the storage compartment between the seats.

I have written to MAZDA UK Headquarters asking for their help.

A new parcel shelf costs £280 incl VAT.

At the risk of being a slanderer (is that even a word?!) I was unimpressed with Hodgson Silverlink.  Saleman in particular couldn't be less interesting in helping when I said I wasn't looking to buy that day, but wanted to check out and test drive a 3 Sport to see if it was the car for me.  He told  me to come back in three months when I'd made my mind up.  Cheeky sod.

:) :) Yes it is a word, but by putting your words into the written form it is actually called Libel.
No matter.   ;) ;)

What I was wondering, as you have not put an age in your profile, is if that was a factor. I'm not defending the dealerships in anyway and I think that going by yours, and others', experiences they deserve to be named and shamed.
But it may well be that they are dictated by the company's perception of a just what is a viable customer. Some firms have this ridiculous policy that if the customer doesn't look old enough then they are dismissed. Archaic I know but it does go on.

Maybe you just look younger that you are.... Lucky you  8) 8)

You've hit the nail on the head mate, and unfortunately it's a massive chip on my shoulder.  I'm 27 next week, but I look 18 on a good day.  People at work still think I'm on work experience some times. It's ****** - especially when it comes to wooing the ladies ha!  And unfortunately because of this, I have real confidence issues so I can never be assertive easily - dealers spot this a mile off and milk you for what they can.  Next time I'm just going to walk in and say "I like that car, I want to test drive it" even if I have no intention of buying it today, tomorrow or this month even.  The guy I spoke to yesterday was the total package - complete stereotype of a car dealer. He knew nothing about Mazda 3, let alone that car in particular.  He was more interested in the Rugby match on TV I'd pulled him away from.

By your other post, it looks like you might have had a better experience in Gateshead.
So Silverlink has lost another potential customer.  Their loss.

Hope it works out for you in the end.

Birdman,

I can tell you what the noise from your seat is.  My last 2009 3 Sport did exactly the same but my dealer who was much more helpful than yours took the car straight in and it was fixed the same day  :D can't remember the exact name of what was changed on the seat but I think it was poppers or something?

It was damn annoying, even when pulling away and accelerating it clicked.

Perry's Blackburn.Avoid......
Travelled 250 mile round trip to buy my 59 plate Sport. Paid top price for the car and at first was ok.
Had the car for about 5 weeks now when I tried the driver's heated seat the bottom part didn't work, also the front tyres were wearing on the inside, and a squeeking noise when the air con was on.
So I rang the dealership and they said they wanted the car back to Blackburn..
Now 2 weeks later they returned my car saying the tracking and air con was covered by the 3 Month warranty, but the seat wasn't.
I'm still waiting for the service history and warranty booklet to be posted to me.
To top it all the salesman Connor said the courtesy car they lent me had to have the same fuel in it when they collected it. Fair enough I made sure there was actually more in it than when they left it with me.
So why was my car returned to me with the fuel light on, when there was half a tank when they fetched it.
I've tried to speak to the sales manager even leaving 2 messages and an irate email. So far nothing..
Any advice guys..
Cheers

Well it looks like I was tricked into buying a car with service history, turns out it has none, sales manager said he would pay £120 towards my next service as a gesture and would send me a letter stating this.
2 weeks later I'm still waiting for my letter.
Perry's Blackburn is a joke. If you want good service go elsewhere  >:(

When you say no history have you got a print out of the DSR?

Should be possible at any Mazda main agent, if the car has been serviced but the paper work has gone walkies it will still have a history on there.

Something like this:

No mate, they said that the previous owner had his own mechanic do the work. I was told they would get any invoices bills receipts etc from the owner, but now they are saying he has none >:(
