There's been a few on a the UK Facebook group needed a new supercharger.

To be fair generally the gen 4 has far more electrical than mechanical issues currently. Seems a lot of the new safety systems have teething issues.

That doesn’t sound good new supercharger on rather new cars. Yes I was told by the service manager at local Mazda garage before it closed down that  a lot of the electric faults are from the cars from Thailand . He said it was ok when they were all made in Japan.

It was a free repair and Mazda took the parts away to study, so you'd hope a revision/recall would be forth coming.

It wasn't a total failure either apparently, car ran normally but the supercharger emitted a noise.

Does that mean that some gen-4 cars on the UK market are sourced from their Thailand factory and some from their Hiroshima plant in Japan?  Certain sub models from each or just a mix generally?  I would be far more inclined to buy a model made at a Japanese factory (as mine was) than Thailand, especially if those assembled there have most of the gremlins.  Is there any way to tell them apart of even (if ordering via either a main dealer or broker) to stipulate where you want it to be sourced from?

A few years ago when the gen3 car was being sold, I remember them having many such electrical and trim/build quality (e.g. wing mirrors falling off) issues with quite a few coming in for remedial work when mine was in for service.  Far less issues after a couple of years.

Only if you can get hold of the VIN number here is an example.

There are many websites that can give you the information, but only if you can supply the VIN
