Seasonal i-stop
« on: February 19, 2020, 12:22:12 PM »
I realise that old i-stop topics exist and they started to get very involved.  Forgive me for starting this as a new topi, but I want to go back to simple basics.
Our 2017 Mk3 Mazda3 Sportnav i-stop would appear to be a spring, summer and perhaps autumn feature when daylight hours are long and ambient temperatures are higher.

Our car is only 2.5 years old is normally driven on trips of 11 miles or more. When it is driven in temperatures of say 5C-6C on dark mornings and returning on dark evenings, either battery and/or air conditioning defeats the i-stop.

Is the i-stop really only a seasonal feature?

Just 20 miles off the coast of scotland ourselves so weather of late is the same as your own.

Our i-stop occasionally works fine to.

May then depend on daylight driving (recharge & higher temps) or maybe fortunate if driving mostly in daylight when temps up several degrees.
