NEW PAINT
« on: September 30, 2019, 02:44:58 PM »
Had a paintwork respray(41V Soul red) to fix a long score a the door of our Mazda 3 SatNav last week.
The car was returned to us clean and I was told it had been polished & waxed, but would appreciate some advice as to how long I should wait before claying and waxing a new paint finish?

When we had our bumper respray the body shop guy said don't wash it for at least 4 days. I'm sure I was told ages ago you are best to leave it for a couple of months just to be sure the paint layers have fully hardened before wax/polish.

Drove it home from the respray in torrential rain and it hardly stopped raining since. Hopefully this didn't count as washing the car. Thanks for the advice. Will not detail the car for at least 2 more months.
