Chips Away & Soul Red?
« on: June 11, 2019, 08:04:38 AM »
Hi.

My daughter's mate scratched the rear N/S door with a zip on her jacket the other day. Two inch surface scratch.

I've buffed it etc. and it is still visible. So, has anyone used Chips Away with a Soul Red car? What was the result?

Love the colour but I don't think I'd have another one :(

As you say "Love the colour, but not again" Mine is really soft and easily scratches. I've tried buffing and polishing with coloured polish and I even sent away for the three paint touch up. I'm obviously no good at touching up as it looks worse than the initial scratch. I would be interested to know if anyone has tried a chips away type service?

Never used chips away, but I have used this: https://www.farecla.com/products/g3-professional-scratch-remover-paste/
albeit on two pearl white cars (one mazda and one honda) and its amazing stuff. Worth watching some videos on it to see if it looks like it could fix your issue.
I did by the 'waffle' pads as I didn't know what sort of sponge would be required, seems its the same stiffness as a new washing up sponge found in the kitchen.

At that price it's worth giving it a go. I'll let you know the results
