Happy with new Soul Red Sport Black 120

Having had a good experience over the last few years with a 2006 MX-5,  I toddled off to the Mazda dealer when my 2007 Zafira effectively died after 10 years family service.  Last year Mazda had a scrappage scheme giving £5k off the 3 and I was surprised and pleased to find out that the MOT failed Zafira qualified us for it.

I was particularly attracted by the Bose sound system on the special edition and the LED headlights are good to - and both extras proved to be excellent. The black cloth seats are a bit low rent - a pity that they dumped the suede enhanced seats of a few years back.

I am not finding the car underpowered really - perhaps due to me turning into a bit of a pootler as I have got older. Also I have read that the car is more like 130 bhp than 120. It will do 50 mpg on my most regular long run from Surrey to Yorkshire and the smoothness of a petrol engine is nice to have again. This economy is acceptable in my opinion. At least I wont have a DPF to replace in the future.

Must say that the new model 3 looks lovely - perhaps take a look at it in 3 or 4 years
