2008 Takara Alarm
« on: December 05, 2018, 11:32:27 AM »
Hi,

The alarm on my 2008 Mazda 3 Takara was set off recently.  I don't know what set it off, and am not concerned about that, but I was standing quite close to the car when it happened and was surprised at how feeble it sounded - wouldn't scare a mouse!

It sounded more like the beeping you hear when a truck's reversing.

I've had the car just over two years and it's the first time I've heard it go off.

Are they all like this - or do I need to replace the siren?

Has anyone upgraded their alarm on a Mazda 3?

Thanks in advance.

Yes this has been brought up before. The alarm is not the loudest in the world. There have been others who have altered or changed things to make it better, but that was some time (years) ago.

Perhaps a search from the home page will bring you some answers. I had a quick look and there are several postings related to this, but you have to go back a long way.

my father inlaws 2008 mazda 3 takara suffered with false alarms in his garage , we replaced his old  microwave in his kitchen which turned out to be setting the alarm off.

Thanks Guys,

I've found some postings from way back...

Now that I know it's just down to the quality of the OE siren I'll look to adding an more powerful one.

I don't have many false alarms (only the one since I've owned the car) so I'm not concerned about those.

Regards
