Auto Door Locks (when driving from stationary)
« on: November 19, 2018, 09:25:19 AM »
Morning all,

Recently picked up our new Mazda 3 (2014 Sport Nav) and been playing worth the settings and can’t find anything about the auto locking of the doors when driving away. I have done a bit of searching and thought I found the answer but it turned out to be for the American version.

Does anyone know if the doors can be made to self lock at 12mph (like the American versions?  Even if it is a dealer option only,l.  Thanks!

I don't think Mazda have ever included that option on any of the UK spec 3's
Look at life through the windscreen, not the rearview mirror.

Yeah, I haven't seen an auto door lock feature on my car. Just when it is parked up / stationary.

Mrs leaves the key in the centre console (below the CD player) I keep them in my jacket pocket.

I keep asking her what she'll do when she gets locked out :)

I suspect they haven't included it. I read how to change the settings on auto door lock in my manual (Page 3-18) but couldn't get it to work. Rang the dealer service dept and they told me it was easier to do it through the command module but having watched You Tube videos mine doesn't have the facility on the screen.

I've just activated this function on my car.
its a bit of a faf and cost me £15 but worth it
You need a ELM327 OBDII interface, switchable (it has a modified toggle switch to go between MS can and HS can) £15, tunnelrat electronics sell a reliable one, loads on ebay from £8
Then download FORscan (free for windows Laptop) (FORscan is a russian made copy of Fords own diagnostic program)
Then get the extended free licence - which entails joining there forum
You then go into the configuration and programming via MS can, RBCM module and change the HEX values

my hex values (original no autolock)(M3 2015 2.0 SE-L auto) for the two lines that need changing
7B7-01-01 5D52 0006 E156
7B7-01-02 A51A 4300 08CB

change them to:
7B7-01-01 5DD2 0006 E1D6
7B7-01-02 A51A 4300 20E3

follow instructions to reset.
Go to vehicle , door locks, reset then you'll get options on how you want it to lock

if your hex codes aren't the same as mine you'll need to find the correct values. If you search 'Mazda ASbuilt' you'll get the info
If you want to know your ASbuilt values to work out how to do it prior, you type your full VIN into this website https://web.b2b.mazda.co.jp/AsBuilt/AsBuiltSearchPage.aspx
this website only opens in Internet Explorer, so you have to open MS Edge type in address , on the right side of the address bar there's 3 dots, click on this then click on open in internet explorer. The page will open saying time out, click Return and enter full VIN. The print page or write down (it saves in some Android format that won't open)

This looks difficult but it really isn't

YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK, messing with Hex values can affect the cars operation if not done correctly. Hex values can be restored no problem
