Removal of boot tonneau cover
« on: October 31, 2018, 11:55:43 AM »
I'm sure this is a silly question, but I find it very difficult to remove the cover over the boot. On previous cars the cover slides out without a problem, but on my CX3 I have to give it a bit of a knock to get the cover off the spindle.

Am I missing something?

I had to warm up the clips with a hair dryer to release mine. I am sure they are meant to just clip on,but boy are they tight.

I'm glad someone else has had the same problem, but there must be a solution. I think I will ask Mazda

Mazda referred the query to the Mazda dealer.

They contacted me to say that, although the cover was sometimes difficult to remove, it just needed a firm pull/push.

I haven't tried it yet, but I will post the outcome. I assume if the cover splits it will be replaced by Mazda!!

Maybe a gentle easing with a fine file will help, but you can try it first!
