My first ever Mazda

Hi just got my first ever Mazda. Got a Mazda 3 2.2D sport as a second car.

Got it cheap as it had the dpf light flashing, traction control light and engine management light all on. After reading up on it found out the flashing light could be because the oil is degraded so I give it a service and reset the oil life with the wire to earth trick. It come straight back on so concluded it was definitely the dpf. Tried it on a long motorway run keeping it in 4th to see if it would force a regen and it wouldn’t.

So at this point I was contemplating getting the dpf mapped out until I found forscan works with mazdas, and since I already have this ( other car is a S-max 2.2 Tdci 200 ) I thought I’d give it a try. It took 3 attempts but I had to clear the learned dpf values to keep the light off long enough to force a regen with forscan.

So as I type this I am draining the oil again incase the 2 failed regens dumped the diesel into the oil
