Elactric Folding Mirrors
« on: April 24, 2018, 01:39:32 PM »
Hello, I've got a 2011 Mazda 3 TS2 1.6 Diesel hatchback. A few weeks ago my N/S folding mirror stopped folding & just mage a whirring noise. The mirror glass (and I believe the mirror heater) still work. I really like the car so I ordered a new electric folding mirror from 'The Mirror Man'. It's only three screws & a plug in connection so I fitted it myself - it took about 10 minutes. The problem is synchronising the mirrors though. When I press the 'fold' button (by the electric window switches) the driver's mirror folds in & the passenger mirror folds out. No matter what I do (even took out the car's battery) I cannot synchronise them. Help!!!!!!

When you adjust the mirror, does it go in the right direction?

The mirror glass is fine but the entire n/s door mirror assembly works opposite to the o/s door mirror assembly in that when one folds in, the other folds out. There must be a memory somewhere that the 'fold' button has been pressed because no matter what I do I cannot get both to fold in at the same time & both to fold out at the same time.

I think it's more likely it's been wired wrong. As it's new, I'd be contacting the supplier.
