Auto lock
« on: January 14, 2018, 01:05:46 PM »
Has anyone else had there auto lock not work when they get out of the car? I have had this happen 3 or 4 times now where the car doesn't beep once .
The first occasion I didn't notice it not beep and returned to the car pressed the button to unlock the car and the car locked. Since then I have always taken notice if the car has locked or not. It did it again yesterday got out the car walked away and  the car did not lock.

Happens with mine often. I now have to remember that the last door to be closed when leaving the car is the drivers door and it seems to then lock more often.

now that's interesting. There are a few occasions when I come back to mine and find it hasn't locked but I didn't know about the last door to be locked should be the drivers

Seems with mine if I walk away as the wife is getting out of the passengers side the car (and she’s slow getting out most times) it will not lock automatically, if I wait by the car until she’s got out and all the doors are close the car will lock ok
Made it to retirement  :)

Just to clarify mine does it when the driver's door is last to be closed. it may be the time between turning ignition off and  closing the  door if it's too quick  it doesn't always auto lock, will have to take notice  next time.

Sounds like yet another example of useless technology. What's the point if it's so susceptible to misinterpretation of how it's supposed to work? I prefer to know my car's locked.

If they'd dumped this and fitted front and rear dash cams as standard, they might be using proven technology to the owner's advantage.

As there already is a forward looking camera it seems a shame that it can't be used as a dashcam.

Agree with Yarb - "Seems with mine if I walk away as the wife is getting out of the passengers side the car (and she’s slow getting out most times) it will not lock automatically, if I wait by the car until she’s got out and all the doors are close the car will lock ok"

Auto door mirrors is my visual check - If they fold, the car has locked.

Can it be set so that the mirrors automatically fold when the doors are locked@
