Interior instrument lights
« on: November 23, 2016, 07:00:51 AM »
Hi all ive just put a deposit down on a 2006 mazda 3 sport.
Went over it yesterday
One thing bugging me
When you turn on ignition all the instrument lights around the dials etc light up
When i turn the side lights head lights  etc. The lights go out on the dials etc . Is there a dimmer for the dials when driving at night as not sure .
I know on the light stork you have off auto side and head light icons .
Never driven a mazda before my old car is a seat so all new to me
Help would be appreciated.
Thanks si....

On our newer model, and on previously owned Toyota's, the dash lights are at max when the lights switched off, but are dimmable when the lights are switched on.

The instrument lights are usually on day setting(bright) until you turn on the headlights. When you turn on the side lights or if you have your lights on Automatic and they come on because of a low level ambient light, then they will dim.

Look for this button

Turn your headlamps on then push it. The intruments lights will then step through various intensity levels until you find what you are looking for.
Look at life through the windscreen, not the rearview mirror.
