Roof leak
« on: January 24, 2016, 12:33:52 PM »
I went to give my wife's mazda 3 sport a quick Hoover the other week and discovered that the carpet from the passenger footwell, all the way to the back seat footwell is soaking wet. For a couple of weeks now I've noticed a damp smell, especially after all the rain we've had in December. Sure enough I found mold under the seat. After some investigatory removing of trim and carpet I found the approximate area of the leak. Where the roof lining meets the plastic pillar cover, covering the air bags. The water is getting in here, running down the pillar and into the floor. I'm going to remove the plastic roof trim today and see there's anything obvious there, if not it might be a worn windscreen seal. It doesn't have a sunroof.
Has anybody else had this problem?
Is there a drainage point around there that could get blocked?
Also if it is the windscreen, could this get sorted with fully comp insurance?
Thanks for looking!
