My new Mazda 3 2013 Venture, where to start?
« on: April 01, 2015, 03:11:36 PM »
hi, I've recently bought a Mazda 3 1.6 venture ice white pearlescent.
this is the first time i have looked into modifying a car and i was looking for
tips on where to get started, personally want to keep as much standard as possible,
maybe look into new exhaust etc. nothing serious.
all and any help would be massively appreciated :)
so far looking to get xenon lights.
team heko wind deflectors.
do something with the mazda badges but unsure of what or how?
maybe get the windows tinted darker than the standard tint given.
possibly foot-well LED's.

edit:
TEAM HEKO wind deflectors on the way
plastidip waiting to arrive. will upload pics when they arrive and are done

Hi Baaaarnz and welcome to zoom zoom land. Lovely looking 3  there's nothng wrong with a few tweaks & mods there's lots on here to browse thru plus the maintenance service & running side of owning your 3. Great bunch of contributors to boot which can offer advice, views or point you in the right direction, theres plenty of previous posts with mod ideas some simple inexpensive some not  ;).
The search option is a good place to start if not post away and I'm sure somene will reply. As for some of the things to consider which you've enquired about, emblems = plastidip, wind deflectors check out ebay I've seen them on there plus one of the members has just recentley fitted some and has posted pics (Jakeyeu posts ) look at NielP posts he's done some lovely subtle mods an old member sammpy/sammy (aluminium silver 1.6 sport Mazda 3)not sure which has done quite a bit and even myself (mogly) have dabbled in the subtle mod realm check out our posts ,some are more technically minded than others (not myself  :o ) but the info and ideas are there. Personally I've lowered added different alloys so far but always looking at other ideas my latest upgrade is LED canbus sidelight bulbs plus interior bulbs on their way.
In the meantime give us your opinion on your new purchase and tell us a little about yourself  :)

Welcome, mate. Definitely a nice choice in colour, would've went for white myself if I had the option.

If you're planning on doing something with your emblems, you could try this? Plasti dip your inner emblem white and the actual badge black which looks pretty smart.

Hi, well this is my 2nd car first being a little fiesta 1.3 which I bought of a mate which was lowered but it was pretty awful  ;D  now moved onto the mazda as it got me the most bang for my buck and have been so pleased with it. Just looking to play around with it a bit and make it a bit more personalised. Ordered my team heko wind deflectors. And deciding how and what to do with the rest. Jakeyeu I looked at a YouTube video of a guy who did that and does look really good. Also looking at tinting the headlights as well not sure if you guys know anywhere particular which sells the film to do it without affecting the light, found a company called fly eyes which look good. Now just working on getting other bits and bobs got a huge list of things I plan to do. Just need the money for it all  :-\
Thanks for the help so far guys.
anyone know where I can pick up corksport parts without paying silly P&P?

Hi mate, nice looking 3, they look great in white.

Quick question, I notice you have round fogs - are they stock on the 2013 model as my 2010 sport has square ones and I much prefer the look of yours.

Have you replaced them? If not, does anyone know if 2013 fog units can be direct swapped into my front valance?

Cheers all!

Ah OK.. Clearly still getting to learn the range properly  O0

I'm assuming if its facelifted they can't be swapped in directly to my 2010 sport??

Cheers  :D

Hi Mc no you can't swap out the fogs from facelift gen2 its a completely different shape/mould. I would have thought you could get a bumper/valance from a gen2 facelift and fit it as I would assume (one should never assume ;D) it's the same mechanics.
Baaaarnz nip over to the mps forum they have/had a uk corksport representative on there at some point as it was one of their forum sponsors they may be able to help. Also check out Total-mps website and ask the guys there plus they have some styling parts that could crossover to our gen2 models, Aliexpress is great its asia/us version of ebay loads of stuff there to, it's sold in dollars but it does convert and shipping may take a little longer but I know people who have bought from there and if I'm not mistaken some guys off here to.
I've just order some team heko deflectors to had them on my watch list for over a year but succumbed to the temptation  >:D. I did order some canbus free led festoon 30/31 mm bulbs for the map lights but they're a fraction to big and I don't want to stretch the bulb clip so they are gong back and I will look again unless someone who's already done it could point me in the right direction please.

Cheers for the help mogly, checked out the forum couldn't find anything up to date. Contacted them directly to see what the say hopefully get a bit of info from them. That total-Mps site is really good got some nice stuff on there for bodykits and parts so definitely a good place to go for those. I got those team hekos on the way to cost me £32 off amazon so not to bad. Will check out aliexpress to

team heko wind deflectors arrived and fitted and look good ;D really pleased with them. will put some pics up soon when I get a chance. one of them fitted poorly but that may have been my fault so will have to re-stick that one but stays whilst windows up so its all good. when the weather picks up will plastidip the badges. skint for the rest of the month so will have to wait to do any other bits. thinking of refurbing wheels and getting them sprayed white to match the car not sure how it will look.

Nice one! My mate thought it was a good idea to stick his head out the back window and snapped mine. Nothing bad, just the edge where it slots in, so need to sort that.
