Finished off the rears yesterday.

Pleased with the outcome. Can't wait to get the rotas, will stand out a lot better with the gunmetal wheels.

Another small mod. Rear wiper delete.

Fairly easy to do. Literally took 30 minutes max, so if I do decide to pop it back in, its no trouble at all.

Why would you do this ?    I thought the rear visibility through rain and road dirt was so bad on Hatchbacks, that a rear wiper was vital.  Don't you need it ? ?

I was expecting a comment like that to be honest. Nah never had that issue. I've never actually used the rear wiper on this car so it doesn't bother me that I can't use it.

Its never going to be a proper show car, but the point of this project is to create something I'll be happy to take shows and show it off, while still using it as a daily.

Evening jakeyeu I know where your coming from on the wiper deletion, it makes for a minimal look. I would only consider this option on my 3 if I had an issue with the capabilities of the rear wiper but so far this is by far the best rear wiper I have had on any of the hatch back cars I've owned or driven. I did delete the mini's rear wash wipe as it never did do what it was intended to do and it always blew the pipe and leaked ,,,,, so it went & I blanked it off, I wasn't the only mini owner to do this as the R53 were renowned for rear wash failure. Your does look good tho.
As for the colour of the calipers ,,,,,,, hmmmm I dont know really , suggestions? Gunmetal alloys, Aluminuim Silver,,,,, calipers???

Looks good, so glad you've got a bung etc, hate seeing them done half arsed. Tbf if you miss it in winter when the 3 drags along a cloud of salt spray you can always refit, but can't remember last time mine got any use.

Depends what you want to do, silver or black will give a more OEM plus look as they won't draw the eye. Any colour will be a lot more obvious.

Jakeyeu,

You got any tips for removing the Badges and spraying them?  I have done my grill badge gloss black but want to do the rear badges to complete the look  ;)
