Can you get a clear rear fog for a 2011 3?
« on: September 08, 2014, 09:54:56 PM »
Would like to balance the lights up on my 3, think it would look better with the red fog replaced with a clear unit and a red bulb. People have done it on the older models but not seen it done on a MK2, anyone done it? Also if so where to get the bits to do it?

You said it yourself. It has been done on Gen 1 cars, but I have yet to see any reports of it being attempted on a Gen 2.

This german spec 3 has the reverse of a UK car

American spec has no foglights whatsoever,  so I suppose that would be my start point, get either an american but more likely a german reversing light.

Most of our members who did this to their Gen 1 cars, got the lights from the German e-bay site.

Found one for 69 euros + postage. It's got some warranty work due at the end of the month so suppose it better stay standard till at least then. For my own reference the search term on german ebay is Rucklicht Ruckleuchte Rechts Innen Mazda 3 AB 2009

It would look better than the normal one, but if you want to make it really nice you should get the german reverse light plus the UK tail lights from a Sport as that is clear too with LEDs.

With mine being a takuya it has the the led rears, also the fact it's white makes the red fog light stick out twice as far.

I'm also thinking I'm going to replace the indicator bulbs with silvertecs so everything looks cleaner.  Only issue is headlamps have moulded orange edges tails have moulded red and I'm guessing only way of removing those is to break the units open and get creative/destructive so there be limit on what I'm doing.

Can you or anybody point me in the right direction for one of these for a gen 1 Mazda 3?
