Blower speed variable at full power
« on: June 20, 2014, 05:16:31 PM »
Don't know if this is normal but have noticed that when I turn the blower motor switch up manually to full power whilst driving it then seems to vary the power of the blower fan ? strangely sounding like it slows the blower as you accelerate and speeds it up when off throttle ?  Is this normal or abnormal ? My car is a 2010 Mazda 3 sport 2.0 (BL model )

Evening Serviox3 ok I've tried my blowers on low/medium/full on all the different settings and positions (feet window air vents) and there's no increase/decrease with acceleration or deceleration either with a/c on or off. So I'm not sure what you are experiencing, is there a dramatic increase/decrease?
The only thing I noticed on mine was when the a/c is on and the car is  stationary the idle of the engine sounds different which I think is normal for any car running a/c when stationary. Sorry it doesn't help may be someone else might have an idea.

Yes there is quite a variation as though its being restricted back intermittently at full blower power (Not AC related though). The worst thing though is its an irritating distraction having it on full power while driving as you can hear the blower motor increasing and decreasing in pitch with acceleration so might have to book it in to be investigated at a dealer.

Evening have you had any luck in resolving the blower speed?

Think the flaps in air vent are controlled by a vacum motor you might have leak in vacum hose  so when you throttle up engine uses more vacum causing the flaps in vents to close.

That's what it sounds like as though some sort of flap isn't working or blocking the flow. I was hoping to get it looked at by the dealer I purchased it from but I'm just now out of the 3 month warranty period   :'( So I don't think they will be obliging without payment ?  I could have a look myself but would you know how to locate the vacuum hoses/motor ? Is there a manual anywhere for the BL range ?
