A sad day as my 3 is going
« on: February 17, 2014, 08:46:06 PM »
Yes I'm sorry to say my 3 is going.  Very sad. Searched hard for a replacement but cannot find a good one.  All the ones for sale are 1.6 engines which are too small for me or high miles.

So I will be going back to a Honda Accord.  Not as much fun on the twisty road but smooth and silent with lots of toys.

Will be selling my xcarlink once I've got it removed.

If I could have found a 3 I would have bought it happily.  But with 60/70k on the clock didn't take my fancy!    Was never a fan of the newer 3 but did go and look at the all new 3.   Even with it Nissan Junk-like rear end I liked it but prices too high at the minute.  May wait a few years and buy one.   Saleman had me tempted with the personal contract hire but just not my idea of car ownership.

My Accord is very different to the 3 which is a shame and I love the handling/fun element of it.   For a bigger car with a 2.0l engine the tax is lower and mpg is slightly better and much faster.

Been 3 weeks now without my 3 and their are some good and bad points.

Fuel - mpg has gone through the roof, currently showing 39.6mpg which is good for a 2.0L and more mile to the tank is good
Sound - silent inside, hard to even hear the engine
Exhaust sound - missing that growl
Cornering - nothing beats the 3 for fun handling, miss the tight cornering fun

Keeping it Jap fella. That's the main thing.

I like the look of the new 3. Were you not tempted by a second hand MPS?

Stu

At the time of looking for another 3 could only find 1 MPS and it looked like it had had a hard life complete with stupid massive exhaust and rear bumper cut to fit it.

4 weeks on several MPS and Sports have appeared in Autotrader all I would have been tempted with.

But very happy with my Accord, just wish it would understand my accent.
