DIY Window tint.... Don't sigh too quickly!
« on: January 03, 2014, 04:52:46 PM »
So, another window tint thread I hear you sigh!

I'm not asking you 'should I, shouldn't I, how do I or anything'! Praise the Lord you scream! Haha!

Im taking the plunge (after a cheeky win on the spurs game on weds) and giving it a go tomorrow while the misses gets her hair done. A few hours of uninterrupted time with the car, which we all know we crave! Lol.

Basically the reason I'm telling you all is incase anyone is interested in a how to guide. I sure there must be someone interested as I'm struggling to find a 'good' one anywhere.

I'm also finding a lot of 'conflicting' reports of being good or bad so I don't know what to believe. Granted probs a 65%/35% split leaning to bad. I'll be honest, I'm not expecting much. And likely will need to pay someone in the end. But I thought I'd give it a go.

It's seems half the battle is patients. So early night tonight I think!

Well... Interesting few hours.

Lessons learnt...

1. The 3/4 windows are pretty easy.
2. Nothing else is easy....

I'm sure you'll all be surprised. Basically it's not a diy job. Little disappointed tbh. I thought I may be able to do it. Which I was with the smaller windows. But wasn't ableto do the rear window due to heat shrinking going wrong... And the other windows for the same reason

Sorry guys!

Liam

Not to worry. We all do things in life that we thought were easy but turned out to be a nightmare.  At least you tried and can now pass the benefits of your experience on to others.
