Driver electric window controls not working
« on: April 18, 2012, 12:03:45 AM »
The battery in my car had been flat for a while.  The car was jump started and now runs on a battery charger every few weeks.

For some reason, the driver electric window controls for the passenger windows no longer work?

Only the driver electric window control and the individual window controls (for each passenger) work.

Try dropping each window by its switch and then putting it up and holding the switch up for 2 seconds.

As stated above, read this it explains it very well.

Window thing is simple... Apparently its in our book.. but hey, I am a man and don't read such things..

When the battery is removed, the windows need to be reprogrammed so the auto closure knows when to stop..

Just goto each of the other windows, lower it a couple of inches, then raise it back up to close again, keep your finger pulling the switch up when it has stopped for maybe 5-10 secs, you will hear a very quiet click. This click means it has been set at the close position.

Do this on each of the windows and then try your drivers door again and all should be good.

Weird thing was, this didn't happen when i disconnected the battery.. Go figure..

Hope that makes it work!   :)

I believe the auto-closure is only for the driver window not the other windows?

You might get this problem a few times again until you get a new battery, I had the same problem. When a new battery was fitted it went away!
