Wiper Blades!
« on: May 25, 2011, 09:42:25 AM »
Okay, this is my first car with flat blades.

My passenger side wiper blade is quite noisey (VERY annoying!) unless its really really wet (pouring with rain or LOADS of screenwash!) it seems to judder on its way up. The driver side is better but also judders slightly and is far from silent!

I have no idea what make the wipers are or anything, they were on the car when I purchased it.

Is this just how flat blade wipers are? I have seen a set of nice looking Bosch flat blades (apparently these are as close to OEM as you can get?) but I dont want to fork out nearly £30.00 for them and they be exactly the same!

Thanks in advance

I would try giving your windscreen and wiper blades a good clean. If that makes no diffference then get a set of standard flat blades from these people. They work brilliantly on my 6.

That sounds like they'r worn out to me. The one's I think your talking about are bosch aerotwin which are pretty much the best from what I'v read on them. Try using vinegar and newspaper on the wiper blades to clean them, sounds odd but it works

Clean your wipers with AutoGlass Fast Glass - contains no silicone (unlike household stuff) which can cause judder and hazing. Also check the wiper arm isn't bent

Thanks for the advise guys!

I'll check them out this evening if I get a chance and the weather holds up!

I wondered if they had just worn out TBH.

Pretty sure the arm is okay, I will check and try cleaning the blades too.

Didnt want to fork out for the Bosh Aero Twins and have them do exactly the same thing! As I mentioned, havent had a car with flat blades before and wasnt sure if this was just the norm!

Thanks
