Title: Mazda 3 Sport
Post by: Shadow on May 18, 2018, 08:02:49 PM
Hi all,
Just thought I'd say hello. Ive had my 59 plate 2.0 sport a week now and I'm loving it.
This is my 3rd Mazda, the last two were Mazda 6. Wanted something a bit smaller though. Mines the Aluminium Silver colour with 58k on the clock with fmsh. Looks lovely in the sun. Anyway looking forward to getting to know some members on here..

Vince...

I've got the same model on a 59 plate with 49k on the clock (colour is velocity red), had it nearly 5 years now and the only issue I've had with it is the Bose amp failing. I think that issue was just bad luck, if you service these cars properly they will just go on and on and so far there's no signs of the dreaded rear wheel arch rust on mine which seemed to plague the Gen 1's. Just as a point of interest, does yours have the footwell lighting, some of the early ones in 2009 had them but mine is a Feb 2010 model so missed out.

Hope yours is as good as mine has been, enjoy!

Is there a socket for to plug one in? I removed the cover plate underneath the glovebox (it just unclips) recently and there is a cable attached to it with an electric socket at the. I have been wondering wtf it is for but perhaps one can get an LED to stick in there? Is this wiring absent from your vehicles? I ask because mine is a 59 plate too (but 1.6 diesel in TS2 trim rather than 2.0 petrol in Sport).

I've actually got a kit to install the footwell lighting but not got around to getting it fitted yet. Part of the install requires drilling into the plastic panels in the footwell and there's probably a connection point somewhere but I've not yet checked that out either.
