Not quite the same problem, but I get the usual sticking mirror issue where one of the mirrors refuses to fold in or out from time to time. It's important they fold for me or I can't get the car into the garage, and the problem is normally sorted with a blast of WD40.
You see, I use the folded-in passenger mirror as my guide for the car being far enough over to the left so that I can get out of the car without doing myself an injury. Only this time I didn't check that the driver's side mirror had folded in... and it hadn't

Crump!...and now the d/s mirror doesn't move at all in either direction (glass movement and indicators are all OK) and there's this constant whirring noise as the motor tries to move the mirror.
Mazda can fix it of course, hurrah! Or rather, they can replace it. At a cost. Just 324 of our finest British pounds, that's all
Maybe I just need to remember that there are two mirrors, not one. Or perhaps Mazda should make mirrors that don't start sticking after only 2 or 3 years so that we mere drivers don't have to be so paranoid about what happens when they do! Grrrr!!!
