I'm at approx 94k miles 7 years.  Taking car to garage in a few days to check out why engine light has come on.

Turns out it’s something to do with a flap in the engine (I wasn’t really listening).  Either the flap itself needs replacing or there’s a problem with electrics (will know next week when I actually get it done).  Also, need a new droplink on the rear.

Had the car in the garage for the EML being on all the time.  They went through the checks that they’re supposed to, which meant taking it in on two occasions for most of the day.  The result of the checks is that everything works fine but once the engine is back together in the car, the EML would still come on.  Upshot is that the SOLENOID VALVE has now been replaced and so far the EML has not come on (touch wood, fingers crossed, and all that jazz) (if it’s not that the next step according to manufacturer is to replace the PCM, and I know that’s a road my finances don’t want to go down)
