2014 > Autolock?
« on: July 04, 2017, 02:04:21 PM »
Does the Mazda 3 2014 onwards autolock after a period of time if you do not lock it using the keyfob?

With keyless it would make sense to just be able to get out of your car and walk away with key still in pocket and the car lock itself.

I think I remember reading somewhere that there is an option for it to make a beeping sound or something to signal it is locked? Or I may be mistaken.

With the keyless system you can set it up to automatically lock when you walk away from the car. Whether if beeps or not I can't remember but you certainly hear the locks operate. In nearly 3 years of ownership I found it locked in this way with maybe a dozen times when it didn't.

Nice. How do I set it up to do this? it`s an SE-L though not a sport?

Sorry I am still waiting for my handbook to be delivered as I didn`t get one with the car!

The car will auto lock after a period if you unlock the car but then don't open a door, or maybe it must be the drivers door, can't remember.

I'm fairly sure the 'lock when i walk away a few feet' function is only on the keyless entry model ie not the keyless start model.

I have the same model as you, and I walked away to go into my house (was there for approx 1 hour) and when I came back to the car the doors were locked, so yes it does lock itself
After a time I guess.
