Providing your own oil at a service?
« on: March 14, 2017, 08:09:43 AM »
Hi,

I had never heard of this before but I was advised that if you provide your own oil it could be considerable cheaper.

I called up for my MADZA 3 2nd year service yesterday and I was quoted £310 which I thought was expensive. I asked for a quote if I was to provide my own oil and I was quoted £168 !!

Has anyone done this before? Is this normal?

My tip to you reading this is to ask the question if you haven't before. What I would like to know is ....how much oil is required so I can make the separate purchase from Halfords? The monkey on the desk could not tell me without checking and speaking to a technician......who is never available.

i would say that's a service with no oil change  as dexelia ultra 5w 30 oil is no more than 40 pounds for 5 litres.
