« on: June 07, 2018, 06:33:52 PM »

I signed up for the Newsletter and Update notification months ago, but got no notification of the latest update. Maybe they only send the notification if they think they can make some money.

I signed up to the newsletter and got a notification recently. I have had to sign up to the newsletter twice as I failed at my first attempt

Latest update still hasn't picked up changes to speed limits near where I live that happened three years ago.

And unlike the reality on the ground, it's opened sections of a major new road that are unlikely to be fully operational until late autumn. Didn't have time today to try some route planning, but it'll be interesting to see where Madam tries to take me.

Update

I've done a few test routes, and as expected, I'm being directed along a road system nearly 30 miles long that is unlikely to be open before the end of the year, maybe later. Not too much of a problem if you know the area and the reality on the ground, but the potential for chaos for those who don't, particularly as the tourist/holiday season's just kicking off, seems immense.

It would be interesting to know how that cock up reached the system builders.

Pretty sure your shape car should be Garmin.  The TomTom version was fitted to the Mazda 6 and CX-5 until late 2014.  The TomTom one, although a touch screen, has knobs on the stereo front including a volume knob.  The Garmin one is a full touch screen without knobs on it, and has a volume knob next to the commander knob.

I'm curious. How do you work out what make the SatNav is?

The one in my CX-5 says TomTom on the boot-up screen.  Not sure if our newer Mazda 3 says anything tho, I'll try to remember to check the next time I'm in it.

Nothing on start up. Next time I have the card out, I'll have a dig through it for clues.

The salesman in the garage told me he thought it was a Tom tom.
going by the cr*p Garmin I had previously, I'm inclined to believe him.
This Nav hasn't let me down once yet (touch wood :D)
