1st Gen Mazda 3 (Interior Similarity Question)
« on: February 23, 2018, 10:54:25 PM »
Hi, just a question. Does all 1st Gen Mazda 3 have similar or identical interiors? I have had seen mixed responses on some other forums.

So basically I am looking to replace a plastic cover by the front passenger's left foot side. This part is covering some gounding ports and other electrics.

Story goes, guy who installed the admiral black box this morning unwittingly zip tied my old dash cam cable with the other cables under the plastic cover. After he left I was supposed to start my usb hard wiring project but because he had my old cable tied I had to free it and in the process unluckily brokethe plastic cover in half. Now I am looking to have it replaced and see lots of possible donors on ebay.

Question is, will any year make any difference or will they be all the same? And can I take one from a hatchback although I have a saloon?

Thanks.

I think it's safe to say that despite the external facelifts on the Gen 1, the internal covers (such as you are looking for) remained the same.  Also your question about Saloon vs Hatchback is well founded because the two models had hardly any matching panel externally.  However one again, I think you are safe with interior panels.

Cool! Thanks for the confirmation. I was looking around and was almost definitely sure all first gen have the same interior stuff. I have someone offering it for a tenner. :)

Just an update,  I got a replacement one from a Mazda 3 2006 saloon, they have minor difference and different serials but still fitted properly. :)
