Strange thing to be posting on our forum but I have good reason
I have fitted an iPod integration module to my 3 and while I was at it I took the opportunity to try my MX5 Illuminated gear knob out.
After disconnecting the heated seat switches and using the multimeter to identify the wire with a variable voltage on it for dimming the lights on them I connected the gear knob into it and hey presto we had light.
Everything was fine until I tried to dim the dash lights
All the existing lights dimmed as they always had, but the gear knob worked in reverse
As the dash went dim the gear knob got brighter and vice versa.
Deciding that I needed a seperate dimmer switch I identified an RX8 one which would fit into the spare slot on the dash on ebay for £6
It has arrived, however there is no connector with it and it has 6 pins and I don't know which ones to connect
The RX8 Forum haven't been very helpful at all even though they have the wiring diagram to download if you are a paid up member which is £31, quite annoying as we all have the same badge!!!
Does anyone know where I can get the wiring diagram so I can work out where I need to go please?
