Whole suspension arm changed but still knocking
« on: June 05, 2018, 07:40:52 PM »
Hi all
Hope for some advice please. After realising that there was a knock coming from the driver side suspension I had the arm changed but I still seem to have a knocking noise when going over small bumps etc. Admittedly it was non genuine arm fitted but brand new so I am a bit lost as to what else it would be.
The unit comes as one complete arm so all parts present.
Any ideas on where to look next. Unless it was just a poor quality  part.

Thanks for any advice.
Pete

Is it definitely coming from the bottom rather than say a top mount? Any clicking or knocking when turning the wheel? Uneven tyre wear? I assume the shock on the side was checked during fitting.

Hi . Just read your post re the knocking from the drivers side suspension arm. I assume that whoever fitted the arm torqed the bolts up. There is a bag supplied with the arm  that contains new bolts etc and these were fitted when the job was done.Try the passeger side suspension arm and check that all is well on that side.
good luck, keith h
