The best thing to do is phone them up, i used the compare websites and the best quote they give me was 3grand, if you phone the company up from my experience they often give you way better quotes.

What????

I feel like such an idiot!
Just renewed my 2006 2.0 Sport with Aviva for £1000 (3yrNCB Protected + Girlfriend on it too)
Last year it was £850, renwal price was £920, although i opted to have my NCB protected, which brought it up to £1000.

Now i search for ages to find somewhere cheaper, and now i look at admiral, and they only want £750.

And to add insult to injury, they would insure me on a MPS for £1100, only £100 more than my current price on my 2.0 Sport.

Raging! On the other hand, i could always cancel it and still save money?

Im 21
License for 4 years
3 Years NCB
3 Points (TS10)

Admiral want:
£1100(10 months) / £1258(12 months) on an MPS
£600(10months) / £680(12 months) for the 2.0 Sport

I think im going to cancel my policy with Aviva, and go to direct line. And also advertise my car for sale now! If it sells, then i will change the policy to suit(MPS).

EDIT:

Oh and a good point to remember. I added my Mum (Therapist) and my Sister (Child Psychologist) as named drives to the policy. With them both on it, it came down by £500!

I feel for all you young guys.  Mine was £186 this year for the 2.2D[185] sport.  7 yrs NCB, protected social and commuting, £300 excess.

Mind you the renewal offer was £350 up from £220 last year.  Told them where to stick it.

I'm going to be selling my MPS ross27 ;) only £1100 insurance for you bargin ;). If i were you rich196 i would  wait until your 20 or 21 and phone different insurers up and see what they say. I got my MPS when i was 21 and i was paying £2000 to insure it then. If all you have to wait is a year or 2 to save £2500 then you might as well wait.
