Having worked for a major uk motoring breakdown organisation for the last 10 years (cant say which) I can gladly confirm for all you Mazda lovers out there that my own experiences show that they ARE one of the most reliable marques on the road- hence Im on my second. Never even add oil.
Have to say that any I have attended over that time for anything more that a flat battery, or puncture are usually diesel models- with the PSA (Peugeot/ Citroen ) unit, pinched by Ford (amongst others) and of course inherited by Mazda for that reason.
Its important to remember, that all marques and models have good and bad (some more than others granted) but Mazda do fair very well.
I am dissapointed by your experiences, but unfortunately none of the manufacturers are obliged to honour any warranty claims outside of the warranty period, and any contribution they make has to be seen as a positive action. Unfortunately, once a vehicle is approaching 5 years old you are very much in the lap of the gods, as no one can promise infinite integrity on any mechanical part. Harsh I know, but really just speaking of my experiences of over 20 yrs in the motor industry. Hope you find a more suitable make of vehicle, but trust me, when it comes down to the nitty gritty they are all much a muchness.

Agreed. Willpower and I certainly appreciate the maturity our members have shown when reacting to him. I can assure you and the other members however that if JS continues to rant in the manor in which he has shown us, I don't think he will be posting much again. :)

as previous said about buying a demo car lol they are thraped, ragged, hammed, abused buy any 1 who doesn't or isn't going to own it. i once worked for a manufacturer and spending time at the factory i noticed many cars being ragged from the end of the production line up to the test track where several trainee personnel took it in terns to rag it about.   no one ever knows the past history of a car but all we can do is pray it was treated as we would ones self.
i hope you fight and get some compensation because your story is very rare for any manufacturer but in this world no one wants to admit to anything or pay for something they may feel they don't have to.

My last post on this thread and my own personal opinion.

My wifes first Mazda3 was an ex demo and never gave us a moment of trouble except three years down the line when the belt tensioner started to go, which was replaced by the dealer. I think that the 'demo cars get ragged all over by everyone' is a bit of a general statement which I do not go along with.

Yes one or to boy racers will give the car a bit of a hard drive, but generally I think sensible blokes have a little bit mechanical sympathy. (thats not my main reason for this post and I am certainly not trying to stir a discussion back up)

All of the other mazdas we have or currently own are absolutely fine.

The thread title is misleading and not true, so for anyone looking to buy, go have a test drive, read the rest of the forum and make your own educated opinion.
