It's the same as the tax you pay ;) You're thinking of the Republic of Ireland!

Yea, Rip-Off Ireland,
I'm payin almost the same in tax for my 1.6 Diesel as you pay for a 2.0 petrol sport.
Fair play to ya Unlight, Not many MPSs around the north, think there is one other northern member on here.
Wish I could afford to move across the border.  :(

Having just been in your neck of the woods for a few days, I must say that I was astonished at the number of Mazda's especially 3's that I saw.
Every day I must have seen at least 20 or so (and a lot of them Saloons), mostly 1.4's, but so many. Obviously the Irish people like Mazda's. I even saw one in Limerick being used as a taxi.
I was told by the guys at Cahercalla Motors in Ennis that they dont even consider importing 2.0ltrs and as for MPS's well thats a non starter.
Why there are not more on the forum I've no idea, but there are plenty of happy people driving Mazda's over there.

That would have been me!! I saw your car (Im pretty sure it was the one I test drove at Mullusk which got me hooked on the MPS in the first place!)  at Sprucefield and I think your girlfriend thought I was staring at her!

I gave her (the car, not your girlfriend!) some of the beans off the roundabout but ya didnt bite!! lol!

Just joined the Forum there now and im from NI just bought an 09 Mazda 3 1.6 Sport at the weekend there with around 25k on it, having trouble getting an accurate reading on the MPG yet though, the wee boxs on the gauge dont be long going away :) Love the car wouldnt have another diesel again!! Im hearing if we fill up down south the octane levels are better meaning we will get more MPG for our money Petrol wise :)
Love my Mazda even though she is thirsty :)
