Mazda 3 Sport 2013 rattle at rear FIXED
« on: November 21, 2017, 09:39:49 AM »
Ever since I have had my Mazda 3 Sport 2013 it has rattled somewhere at the rear when the air temperature gets below 10 deg C. I have had everything out of the boot and even looked in all the holes for something that might have fallen in all to no avail. Even tightened up the rear hatch catch as far as it would go. It has annoyed me for 2 winters but I think I may have found the answer and it is to do with the two rubber stops half way down the rear hatch (see picture) I noticed if I wriggled them it made a similar noise to the one I was experiencing. My current solution to see if this was the problem was to wrap a piece of thick string around the base of the stop to prevent it moving and this does seem to have stopped the noise. Not a permanent solution I know and I will try sticking them in with silicone sealant or the like. However at the moment it is so much better and I don't dread going over little bumps anymore waiting for the rattle.
