Mazda 3 Sport Undertray query
« on: September 30, 2017, 11:23:49 AM »
Hi all first post here and looking for some advice.

Late last week the front under tray of my Mazda 3 Sport 2006 had come away at the and was dangerously dangling along the floor.  I was near a garage at the time and asked if they could mend the thing but for some reason they couldn't.  Something about the tie holes had disintegrated,.  They took the thing off, including two side panels that were now dangling in the wind after the main mid section was removed.

I then took it to my usual garage and they tried to put it back but to no avail.  So yesterday I received an estimate from the garage where they have found a new one through Mazda but the Under tray is quoted at £165.19 and clips at £20.00.  I nearly fell off my chair looking at a price for what is essentially a large piece of plastic!!

I have Googled and the closest I could find was one on Ebay but it was just the main middle bit, no side panels and to be honest I am not even sure it is the exact one for my car.  The garage did mention whether I could find one at a Scrapyard but to be honest I am a real numpty when it comes to cars and parts hence why I always just leave it with the garage!!

So just wondered if anyone thought this quote was the norm or a bit extreme and whether there are any other websites out there I may be able to get both the main under tray along with side panels at a better price?  Doubt it with a 2006 car but thought I would ask.

Many thanks in advance.

You could leave it off, the early Focus does O.K. without. The road salt etc. does mess things up a bit though.

You could try these people.   https://www.247spares.co.uk/     I have dealt with them several times, always successfully.

I have just entered  "Engine undertray" for my car and there is availability.

Something happened to mine a couple of years ago, my garage reckoned it wasn't worth replacing
