Heads up Navigation
« on: July 08, 2017, 08:59:29 PM »
Hello,

Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere but I can only seem to find old post relating to this issue.

I picked up a 2017 Mazda 3 Sport Nav (UK version) yesterday and so far am happy with it.
The problem I have is that I can't get the Sat Nav directions to appear on the HUD (ADD).
I spoke to the dealership and they said I have the latest version of software (59.00.502) and Mazda have removed that functionality. As this was a major selling point I phoned Mazda UK themselves who told me they haven't removed this functionality and the lady I spoke to said she has 59.00.502A software and she has the turn by turn on the HUD.

So, dealer tells me it is removed, Mazda UK say it hasn't been.

Does anyone on here know what the truth is please?

I don't even have the option on the connect system to turn navigation on for the HUD.

Thank you

Hi,
I've had my 2017 M3 Sport Nav 1.5D for a Month now.

This seems to be a 'design feature'

It does work but, everytime, you need to go into settings, HUD and de-select and then re-select the display Nav data option.

I have my dealer looking into this - will get back to you if they come back with a reply

Further update....

My questions to my dealer:-

        •   Sat Nav instructions on the HUD – They only seem to work, if I go into the settings, de-select the sat nav indications on the HUD and then re-select it.
Is this the way it should be? That they do not automatically work?
       •   Music info from the radio – e.g. Artist and song. I have the option selected, but it does not seem to display any. I think it should.
It’s not a signal issue – as it works fine on my partners Mini.

Dealer Response:-

Both of the points you have mentioned don’t sound quite right to me. Would you be able to spare the vehicle for a morning or afternoon and I’ll get our workshop to check the software?

I think they are as confused as me :)

The whole Mazda electronic systems seem 'back to front' to me. You also have to de-select the tick button for the auto sensing wipers to work. Just bizarre.

I raised the satnav issue (having to deselect and reselect it, but not every time!) with my dealer who said they would contact mazda. That was two months ago, nothing. There's been a new version of software since then so will get it updated.

Hi

I have this issue also (brand new mazda 3 2.2 sport nav). Sometimes the guidance is on the heads up, and sometimes it is not. Does not seem to follow a pattern. As stated going into settings and reselecting, the already ticked, setting solves it and i have done it so often now I can do it without looking in about 3 seconds, so not a deal breaker. However, would be nice if it worked when a car costs £24K!

Other than that its pretty great. :D

I have the same problem with my car too. Haven't tried the settings off/on again so will give that a go - thanks for the tip!

There's been a new version of software since then so will get it updated.

What's the best way of finding out when new software versions are available?
