Fitting reverse sensors
« on: April 02, 2017, 12:26:37 AM »
Hello, got 2010 Mazda 3 and bought some reverse sensors for it. Anyone got factory fitted sensors that could get me some measurements?
Thanks.

What measurements you looking for? I have the 2011 with a sport bumper with dealer fit sensors so if it's something I can help with without taking the car to bits I'll have a look.

Would be so helpful if you could get me measurements say from middle of bumper to each centre of the sensors.

Can you put a pic up too of the rear of the car. Thank you for your time and help.

Approx measurements, middle to inner sensors 23cm, outer sensors 63cm. They are 4cm down from the line where the bumper goes from curved to pretty much vertical.

Yeah they were fitted by the supplying dealer before I picked the car up. I paid 315 quid for them including VAT, fitting, and painting and they are genuine Mazda ones.

Tbf an auto electrician would probably have done the job for more like 200 including parts..but I paid for laziness and convenience.

Beware if you're not using the correct factory sensors.  I fitted aftermarket sensors to an Avensis I once owned but they were deeper than the factory ones so they couldn't go in the original positions cos they would've hit the inner bumper steel plate/cross member.
