Fog Lights - Post facelift Mk1
« on: January 31, 2017, 05:26:31 PM »
Yes – another (old) thread based on fog lights..  :(

Before I get flamed I HAVE searched (and checked out every other  3 forum) and while I know there have been many discussions about fog lights, the discussions with fog light advice for older 3s (Mk1 facelift hatch) is lacking in that there does not seem to be a definitive answer or a posting from someone that has successfully done the/an aftermarket install on the bumper as per the picture in this thread (http://www.mazda3forums.co.uk/index.php?topic=14218.0) …  It also seems as if the install kit (BP4K V7 230F) is for the pre-facelift model and not for this one

NOTE: It is possible I missed something so forgive me at least that..

So… Has anyone had success and if so, could they share some info… Please…  :) Or do I just live with what I've got (or haven't got)

PS - could not upload a picture myself as it said the upload folder was full

I feel it's a lot of effort/expense for something that's never likely to get used.

In 38+ years of daily, year-round driving, I've yet to encounter Fog thick enough to need them.

Mind you, I do use mine virtually every day flashing them at the t**ts that have them on all the damn time . . .  >:(

The amount of time mine are on they might as well not be wired up. Dunno if it's the same on the mk1 but they seem to do bugger all on the mk2 at least so little as to make you wonder if they are on.

Although of course you have to use them to switch the rear light on..

As you know I've been searching for the same thing with no luck so far. Mazda don't have a clue about this. I won't lie, my quest for foglights is primarily driven by aesthetics more than functionality. I think that the little things like foglights and the rear spoiler (not fitted on mine either!) really make the car. Perhaps I should of done more homework and bought a different model. I suppose if I'm that bothered I could buy and fit pre-face lift bumper....

Thanks for the reply. A month down the line and my thoughts are the same as yours.

We get quite a lot of fog this side of the pond especially being out in the country and my wife's Corsa with the front fogs lights up the early morning road so much more.. But I guess it can stay as is for now :-)
