Mazda3 2012
« on: August 06, 2015, 08:30:46 PM »
Have a Mazda3 ts2, 2012,petrol. Just noticed cracks by the doors on the bodywork by the sill.(see X on picture) It's on both sides, they do look like infills on the body coming away. Has anyone any ideas of this happening and what they are.

Mine has them, they appear to be stone chip projection. With mine being a Takuya they are also on the plastic sill extensions.

It doesn't seems to be stone chip. i have stone chip protection and there below the sill and all the way along.
The things that are on my car are painted same colour as the car and they are inside the door opening as well as the sill.

They are not stone chip (assume you mean rubberised paint as such,) but there is a thick plastic film applied on the to the bottom of the door post. Overtime they seem to lose some adhesion and become brittle.
