Got to admit, Being a Mazda owner i would go back to VAG any day. Had 5 of the new Mazda 3's delivered at work today and got to say I'm not as keen on them as i thought i would be. 1 of them has a black and white leather interior that i think just looks nasty. The one we had at work a few weeks ago for test drive and technical info was a 4 door saloon in red was a very nice car.

Have owned my 3 for 2 years now, I would move easily to a Golf, especially if I would have to choose between the new 3 and the mk7.

It will always be the same things at play.

Both cars will offer identical practicality with Mazda always being better value for money.

Vag will always be more expensive but better build. This does not mean more reliable!

Don't think you can say they are not built with better materials and feel better as well as a result, from thicker paint to better interior.

Not saying they are more reliable but they feel better built.

Extra weight??? Lol

I appreciate the merits of both cars fella and have owned multiple jap and vag cars.

It is a statement of fact that the materials used are of a better standard. There is nothing wrong with Mazda interior it just isn't the same level of finish.

Ronin, I think it might help you a little to have a quick look at Stuno1's background before encouraging this repartee any further.
Stu who is a senior member of the forum did at one time own an MPS which he modified to a high degree before moving on. He is still a very active member of the forum and currently owns a Lexus Isf, if you really want to talk about quality.

It is smashing that you feel the way you do about your Mazda and many others on the forum feel just the same. But as a very new member please think again before you decide to provoke any further argument as you could regret some of the responses you get.

To be clear I am not trying to be derogatory towards Mazda. As above I owned a mk1 mps and rx8. Both lovely cars and well made but the quality of the interior of vag cars is a better standard.

Vag cars are not as reliable IMO but that is a different matter. I am a fan of Mazda and jap cars (had a fto and now a lexus isf) and Mazda has its place. Amazing spec cars for the price and always will be.

As above I understand wanting to defend your car chap. I am the same :0)

A forum of any sort is just a place to share opinions and help each other mate. It is not to promote Mazda and say it is better than all other manufacturers where it is not true!

If you don't want to hang around then fair enough. Like I said, nothing wrong with mazdas but removing your rose tinted spectacles may help open your mind a bit. All the best.
