Audi A4
« on: February 04, 2012, 03:02:26 PM »
Spent yesterday driving a new Audi A4 and didn't like it.

ok yes it was fast n had lots of toys but I didn't like the no handbrake, dash had too many buttons on.  An easy task like altering the heating fan was not that easy - select heating, look at the screen turn dial.....hit a cyclist,  only joking.    The dash creaked which was a worry!

and the worst thing I found was the road noise, very bad.

But, but, but, it's German! By default that makes it a million times better than a Japanese car. Don't they realise they lost the war?

I know people will have horror stories about all makes of cars, but the worst new car I ever owned was an Audi A4. Bought new in Sep 2000 a 1.9 TDI saloon. The front passenger seat would not stop rattling, the engine warning light kept coming on, the dual mass flywheel got stuck in high torque. The dealer told me to drive it home and they will call me when they find a solution. The dealer didn't seem to care. I put it down to the company car syndrome.

Had a hire car from work, a vauxhall meriva, didn't have a conventional hand brake just one of them electronic push button contraptions, hated it. I hope that's not the way all makers are going.
