Side mirror issue
« on: January 22, 2022, 09:35:34 AM »
Hi guys, just wondering if any of you can help me.

Recently noticed that there is an issue with my passenger side mirror. It stopped from being able to move in all directions (left, right, up or down). It still folds and heating system still works.

Any idea what might the issue be?

Have you tried moving it by hand? In case something has become stiff/stuck behind the mirror?

Yeah tried that still does not work, I tried to it around but also cannot hear motor running whereas the Driver side works and can hear motor making noise.

I've read somewhere to take the mirror off and spray it with silicone lubricant? but given that I cant hear the motor it might be for naught?

yeah I would have expected to hear the motor struggle if anything.
So many things leading to the movement of the motor could be anything, even the L & R mirror select switch  :-\
Suppose easiest thing is to take the mirror off and see if there is a voltage getting to the mirror, if that's something that can be done. Never took one apart but guess its some sort of stepper motor.
